This 100% pure and natural oil is the fixed oil obtained from the seeds of Castor, Ricinus communis, Euphorbiaceae.
Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, both castor oil and ricinoleic acid have demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties. This makes them useful for treating irritated skin. Ricinoleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid and it acts as a humectant.
Castor oil may have humectant properties, which means that it can draw moisture from the air into the skin, keeping the skin hydrated. Humectants retain moisture by preventing water loss through the outer layer of the skin, thus promoting hydration.
Castor oil is thick, so it’s frequently mixed with other skin-friendly oils like almond, olive and coconut oil to make an ultra-hydrating moisturizer. People have used castor oil for thousands of years as a powerful natural treatment for a variety of health issues.
